With the conclusion of the 2019 Apple Special Event, Apple has done what it does best. That is to come out all guns blazing and introduce industry-altering products and services.
This is exactly what happened on the 10th of September when the company announced the next generation of its product line-up like; ‘iPhone and iPad’ along with the introduction of services like; ‘Apple Arcade and AppleTV+’.

In this review, we take a deep dive and understand, the good, the bad, and ugly things about the most exciting announcement of the event, the new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
The Good – A13 Bionic SoC, New Colors, Better Battery Life, Improved Camera
The new iPhone 11 is powered by the A13 Bionic SoC which is the fastest CPU and GPU present in any smartphone today. Apple has also done a good job with iOS 13, as it brings features like; ‘Dark mode, sign in with Apple, Haptic Touch, etc.’ to the iPhone 11 out of the box.
Another upside of the new iPhones is all the exciting new color options available. The colors include; ‘Product Red, Black, White, Green, Yellow, and Purple’. With the addition of a Retina LCD screen and the battery optimization of the A13 Bionic SoC, Apple has claimed that the iPhone 11 will have an extra 5 hours of battery life when compared to the iPhone XR.

The biggest improvement over the previous generations of iPhones has to be the cameras. The iPhone 11 comes with a dual-camera set-up on the back with a pixel resolution of 12-MPs respectively.
The primary camera packs a wide-angle lens with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization, the secondary camera comes with an ultra-wide-angle lens with an f/2.4 aperture and 120 Degree field of vision.
Additionally, the new software updates include; ‘Smart HDR, Next-Gen Night Mode, enhanced Portrait Mode, 4K video recording at 60fps, etc’. All this is coupled with a 36% brighter flash than the previous generation of iPhone. Another new thing about the iPhone 11 camera set-up is the feature of recording slow-motion videos on the front camera, Apple calls these; “Slofies”.
The Bad – Display & Charging
But all is not rainbows and sunshine, as the display on the new iPhone 11 is a big let down. The iPhone 11 is carrying the same display as the older generation iPhone XR, which is a 720p LCD.

This is particularly not a great thing considering the fact that every other smartphone in this price segment comes with an HD+ LCD at least.
Another downside of the new iPhone 11 series is no USB Type-C for charging, as all the three devices still house a Lightning Connector.
The Ugly – Design & Substance
This update to the iPhone product line-up lacks substance. The people who had bought the previous year’s iPhones have no reason to buy the new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
The only considerable upgrade in this generation of the iPhone is the cameras and the processor. In reality, it is common knowledge that the majority of users are going to use the full potential of the A13 Bionic SoC or the new Triple Camera Sensors.
Another point open to critique is the fact that Apple hasn’t refreshed the iPhone design since 2017. And the addition of the new Camera bump inside a bigger bump is something not many people are a fan of.
iPhone 11 – Price and Release Date
You will be able to place an order for the new iPhone 11 from this coming Friday on September 13th. According to Apple, they will start shipping the new iPhone 11s on September 20th.

iPhone 11 Pro & Pro Max – Price and Release Date

Both the iPhones are available in two other variants of 125GB and 256GB. Apple will start shipping the new iPhones from September 20th and orders will start from September 13th.
Our Verdict
The new generation iPhones are definitely worth your time and money if you are still using an iPhone generation older than 2018, or are using android devices looking to make the switch to iPhone and iOS.
Saying that it would not make any sense for you to buy the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. If you already own the 2018 series of iPhones, as it would be a very little upgrade in terms of the overall specs.
